Air Dry Clay Porcupine
You will need:
- Air dry clay
- Very small sticks and twigs
- A leaf or leaves (optional for ears)
- Pecan in shell (optional for head)
- Googly eyes (optional)
Directions:
- Spend some time outside gathering twigs, leaves, nuts, or anything else you can use to construct your animal. Use your imagination and feel free to get creative.
- Use air dry clay and found objects to sculpt a body, head, and feet. We covered a pecan in brown clay and attached it to a sculpted piece of clay to form the porcupine’s body.
- Break or cut the twigs to be roughly the same length and push them into the clay body to form porcupine quills or other animal features.
- Add googly eyes, leaves, or additional clay to make the eyes, ears, and nose.
- Let the clay harden for 24 hours and enjoy your new sculpture.
