Rocks Rock! Fun Day

Are you ready to rock? Rocks totally rock in so many ways! Not only are they the foundation of the Earth, but they are composed of many of the minerals and elements that we need to survive. Rock provides habitat for animals in all types of biomes and sometimes rocks are also shiny, sparkly, and awe-inspiring. During the Rocks Rock Fun Day, travel through the Exhibits to collect a set of six Rocks and Minerals Collectible Cards. A new rock themed Science on the Spot will be unveiled at the event, and you can participate in a rock sorting and testing activity. Round out your visit by purchasing mining bags at the Museum’s Mining Co. to see what rocks you discover at the Mining Sluice. Whether sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous – rocks totally rock!
Special programming for Members-Only will also be available on July 13 as a part of Member Appreciation Day.
