Mining Sluice Open for Fall Break

When: Monday, September 30 – Saturday, October 19 from 10 am – 2 pm
Cost: Varies by Mining Bag size ($6 – $50 + tax)

Located outdoors in the Museum’s Courtyard, visitors can purchase mining bags to try their hand at sluicing. Wash the dirt away to see what gemstones are revealed.  Use the included ID card to learn more about the gemstones you get to take home.

Seasonal Hours:

• August 3 – January 4: Saturdays Only from 10 am – 2 pm*

• Open on Select School Break Dates from 10 am – 2 pm*:
  • Fall Break: Monday, September 30 – Saturday, October 19          
  • Veterans Day: Monday, November 11
  • Thanksgiving Break: Monday November 25 – Saturday, November 30 (Closed on Thanksgiving Day)
  • Christmas Break: Thursday, December 26 – Saturday, January 4

*Weather Dependent: Closed when there is rain or temperatures below 48°
