February Community Classes

Tuesdays, February 2 & 16
10 – 11:30 am
 
Limited spots available. Adults who would like to participate in the class are able to register and pay the fee for their own slot (if available).  Admission to the Exhibits is not included. There are two ways to register: in person at the Guest Services desk in the Museum lobby or contact the Group Sales department during regular weekday business hours at groups@cookmuseum.org or (256) 898-6312.

February Class Topics:

  • K – 4th Grade Class: Helpful Habitats
    $12 (+ tax) per participant
    Did you know that there are five major biomes on Earth? What is a biome? What characteristics allow plants and animals to live in some of the harshest places on Earth? These questions and more are answered in Helpful Habitats. Come explore the amazing planet Earth, learn what makes each biome so unique, and find out more about the interesting organisms that inhabit them.
  • 5th – 12th Grade Class: Arthropods
    $18 (+ tax) per participant
    Creepy, crawly, and so cool! Come explore the amazing array of arthropods and see how hairy legs, compound eyes, and holes in body armor are beneficial features that allow these animals to thrive in their diverse environments. Participants will observe and analyze live arthropod behavior and physiology during this class. Discover how arthropods enrich our lives in surprising ways.
