Animals at Play Fun Day

Hip, hip, hooray! Animals at play! Animals like to have fun and socialize. In nature, animals can have favorite “toys” like a rock or stick. A variety of toys and objects are used as part of the Museum’s enrichment plan for the live animals to keep them engaged and healthy.
Visit the Museum during the Animals at Play Fun Day to learn how different animals express themselves in play. Enjoy hands-on learning activities, meet and greet live animals, play with some of the favorite Day of Play games, and see the live animals on display in the Exhibits engage with their enrichment items. Bricks & Minifigs Huntsville will be joining us to provide loose LEGO® bricks for guests to create enrichment items for the Museum’s animals.
There will be a special area where visitors can learn more about otters, decorate and take home their favorite rock, and toddlers can slide like otters.

- LEGO® Enrichment Build Station with Bricks & Minifigs: 10 am – 2 pm
- Hands-On Activities & Day of Play Stations: 10 am – 2 pm
- Photo Station: 10 am – 2 pm
- Otter Fun Station: 10 am – 2 pm
- Minnow (the fish crow) Enrichment Video: 10 am – 2 pm
- Live Animal Meet & Greet: 10:30 am & 1:30 pm
- Oceans Tank Enrichment Dive: 2:30 pm
- Mining Sluice (with purchase)*: 10 am – 2 pm
