Animals at Play Fun Day

Hip, hip, hooray! Animals at play! Animals like to have fun and socialize. In nature, animals can have favorite “toys” like a rock or stick. A variety of toys and objects are used as part of the Museum’s enrichment plan for the live animals to keep them engaged and healthy.

Visit the Museum during the Animals at Play Fun Day to learn how different animals express themselves in play. Enjoy hands-on learning activities, visit Minnow, the fish crow, during the Meet & Greets, play with some of the favorite Day of Play games, and see the live animals on display in the Exhibits engage with their enrichment items.

There will be a special area where visitors can learn more about otters, decorate and take home their favorite rock, and toddlers can slide like otters.

Schedule:

• Live Animal Enrichment in the Exhibits: All Day
• Hands-On Activity Stations: 10 am – 2 pm
• Day of Play Game Stations: 10 am – 2 pm
• Photo Station: 10 am – 2 pm
• Otter Fun Station: 10 am – 2 pm
• Live Animal Meet & Greet with Minnow (the fish crow): 10:30 am & 1:30 pm
• Mining Sluice (with purchase)*: 10 am – 2 pm
